MAY SONG: Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John | Belle and Sebastian (feat Norah Jones)

Belle and Sebastian - Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John

Powered by mp3ye.eu

Travel south until your skin turns, woman
Travel south until your skin turns brown
Put a language in your head and get on a train
And then come back to the one you love

Yeah, you're great, you're just part
Of this lifetime of dreaming
That extends to the heart
Of this long summer feeling

JUST BEFORE THIS LONG, ODD SUMMER ENDS

I stumbled upon Jenny Han's Summer series once upon a sappy night.
And with utter desperation, I tried to settle with quotes from the book, for the mean time, so I hope.

In the wishlist:

The Summer I Turned Pretty
  • "For me, it was almost Winter didn't count. Summer was what mattered. My whole life was measured in Summers."
  • "Victory is a thousand times sweeter when you're the underdog."
  • "Would you rather live one perfect day over and over or live your life with no perfect days but just decent ones?"
It's Not Summer Without You
  • "I will never look at you the same way ever again. I'll never be that girl again. The girl who comes running back everytime you push her away, the girl who loves you anyway."
  • "I release you. I evict you from my heart. Because if I don't do it now, I never will."
  • "How do you regret on of the best nights of your entire life? You don't. You remember every word, every look. Even when it hurts, you still remember."
We'll Always Have Summer
  • "Firsts were important."
  • "But just because you bury something, that doesn't mean it stops existing. Those feelings, they've been there all along. All the time. I had to face it. He was part of my DNA."
  • "I knew I had to be careful. I had to keep my distance. If she knew how much I still cared, it was all over. I wouldn't be able to walk away again. The first time was hard enough."
  • "I'd stayed away for two years. I had to. I knew I shouldn't even be at the Summer house,... it was dangerous."
I know these books carry a pocketful of risks, just because. Let me have them, anyway.

CAPITAL D

If I only have one great wish for my birthday(which will be 6 days from now), it would be Detachment.

Please don't get me wrong. It's just that there are lots of things (on particular things mostly from the past) that I want to leave behind as soon as possible, just before I turn 20.

So there goes the deadline.

TEN TIMES THE CHALLENGE

I have not slept for the record.
I will exhaust my cramming powers for someone else's sake for the record.
I will sacrifice my study time for the record.
I will keep my cool for the record.
I will walk in the rain, rushing for the record.
I will not throw out harsh words for the record.
I will put my act together after this for the record.
I will never implant anything rude about that person for the record.
I will never think about that person for the record.
I will never, in any way, hope that the kid will eat his pride for the record.

WHAT IS REAL (SHOULD BE)

I can never thank you enough for being there to crack me open so I would see how vast life is and can be;
for helping me deem everything as an opportunity to love and be loved.

It made me see that there are two sides of the coin in the act of loving: you end up together or just end it up because you both think that it will be for the better.

Life—it happens all the time.

It will make you realize how weak you are and how strong you can be for love.

And in your existence, you allow yourself to be a gambling house, a shelter of possibilities.

You hope in spite of uncertainties.

You wrestle with reality.

You frolic with destiny.

You believe that “it can be”.

And the greatest part about it is your boldness to step both of your feet in—just because.

Sorry if I speak much in behalf of my pain. But beyond that, I’m happy to think that once upon a time, “there’s US”.

And the bittersweet thing is:

We can never erase the fact that it will always be a part of ourselves.
